Press and Release: Elevating Your Professional Writing 

 

Does this sound familiar?  

 

You write for a living, but you don't necessarily think of yourself as a writer. You draft press releases, policy memos, or web copy, but writing isn’t your main job priority so it often gets pushed to the back burner. More effective writing that better aligns with your organization's values and goals would help your career. But writing is hard. With so much else on your plate, you wind up dashing off drafts that you know need polish and pizazz.

In this small group course, you’ll learn how to make your professional writing stand out. We’ll start with a diagnosis of your organization’s voice, tone, and style. Then we’ll look at best practices for professional communications, and finally we’ll workshop examples in real time. You’l leave with an understanding of how constraints can actually help creativity — and the ability to turn lifeless text into copy that dazzles, persuades, convinces, or sells. Join me, and learn to write convincingly and with confidence.
